PRESS:

"Scandinavian producer Ludvig Elblaus explores the possibilities of setting machines free to create their own music without human intervention; judging by his titles, he probably gets them to make them up as well. But on a hands-on, upbeat track such as "Hitta hem", whose stiff forward momentum and manic irregularities recall such John Baker classics as "The Chase", such worries are quickly dispersed. The nervous, distended pulsations on "Rymd" and the slowly evolving convulsions of closer "Baltice" both suggest a strong feel for a beat and sure sense of timing, even when his powers of description may have deserted him."

"Having produced one of my favourite releases of 2004 on Newspeak, Ludvig Elblaus finally returns with the long-awaited full length album... and what a cracker it is as well! Packed full of choice electronic music ranging from mellow, slightly abstract, yet classic sounding Electronica right through to his signature, more upbeat kind of style. Elements of ELectro reside in the rhythms and there's not a note out of place throughout the whole thing. Clicky, crunchy, sweet, beautiful, weird... a thoroughly brilliant Electronica album. Recommended."

SMALLFISH FEB 2007

"Swedish feller Ludvig Elblaus (who you might remember released a killer’ 12” on the New Speak label a while ago) manages to inject his tunes with that crucial dancefloor stomp which just about separates it from the late 90s bedroom-tronica explosion. I can imagine some of these tunes (especially the album’s opener ‘Hitta Hem’) being played in the early morning at a sweaty European club, somewhere small and underground where the beer and substances flow like a babbling brook of debauchery. All crunched up beats and zipping acid synthwork – it's only marred slightly by an over-reliance on ambient filler, there’s still enough electro-4/4 goodness to get you L’usine fans all in a tizzy. And I didn’t even have to mention how suggestive the album title is… I mean, ‘Flannel Poet’ – you know it’s got to be rude."

INFO:
Ludvig Elblaus is musician that makes electronic music and he's been involved in the electronic music scene since the mid nineties. One recurring trade or pattern could be the strong focus on the rhythmic elements in his compositions all marked with his acute sense for grooves, beats and all things percussive. Apart from the more traditional take on music creation Elblaus is also exploring the intriguing field of automata, that is, machines that make music on their own, blatantly disregarding all and any attempts of human intervention. Ludvig's first release as a solo artist was entitled "Furious Styles" a 12" vinyl disc released by New Speak that received immediate critical acclaim. And his debut album "Flannel Poet" on Electronic Desert Recordings has attracted attention in the very same way. "Flannel Poet" is the first in a series featuring high-quality electronics from Scandinavia and beyond.

ELECTRONIC DESERT
recordings

Electronic Desert Recordings is a small independent record label founded in 2002 and focused on releasing the very best in contemporary electronic music.

The ambition is to concentrate on the music and the artists producing the music. To defy preconceptions and conformities, to overcome any obstacles that could be in the way of releasing electronic music of the highest calibre.

One of the governing ideas of the label is to have a strong focus on the individual artist releasing. We believe that time is of the essence if you want to remain in the musical forefront - that goes for both the artists as well as their productions.

Originally the plan was to create a series of strong one-artist-only 12" vinyl disc releases followed by full-length albums in intervals. The escalating costs of vinyl production and handling eventually debunked that plan completely and the focus as far as physical production goes has been changed to an exclusively compact disc affair. Electronic Deserts' new release schedule is start in late 2006. In our minds the choice of media always has to be submitted to the musical production anyhow and it might be changed again. What is important on the other hand is for an artist to be able to evolve sonically over time and have the possibility to make multiple releases on the same label following a musical vision freely. In short we still believe that every artist deserves a long-term strategy and release schedule.

The label is an extension of the series of musical events named Electronic Desert, which was initiated in early 2002 in Stockholm, Sweden. Electronic Desert Recordings is managed and owned by the founders of Electronic Desert: Jan Andersson and Jonas Sissokho.

ELECTRONIC DESERT
It is the mutual interest in contemporary electronic music that is the main driving force for the founders of Electronic Desert (ED) Jan Andersson and Jonas Sissokho. And it was the lack of a platform for electronica in Stockholm, Sweden that was the main reason for starting ED in early 2002. The live performances have always been an integral part of ED and especially to give local artists the possibility to present their music on a high-quality sound system. The ambition; that ED is to act as a platform for electronic music being produced in Sweden and abroad here and now! In late 2002 the record label Electronic Desert Recordings was added to ED's activities following the same line of thought. So far ED have had more than 20 successful nights, over 30 live performing artists and are looking forward to many more. Previously ED has been invited by among others: New Speak, Fylkingen, Union/Berns, Svaj, P3 Dans, Norbergfestival and Seed Records in England.

LUDVIG ELBLAUS
Ludvig Elblaus is musician that makes electronic music defying definite categorisation and his musical tuition includes studies in a classical context. One recurring trade or pattern could be the strong focus on the rhythmic elements in his compositions all marked with his acute sense for grooves, beats and all things percussive - at times barely noticeable, but always present. Ludvig Elblaus' electronic compositions are truly unique and he constantly changes the foundation of his music.

Ludvig's first release as a solo artist was entitled "Furious Styles" a 12" vinyl disc released by New Speak and it received immediate critical acclaim. Besides his solo venture Elblaus' music can also be heard in the work of highly praised duo Frank and Bill. They've had releases on prolific labels such as, Skam, Merck and last but not least their debut 12 " single "Viva FAB!" released on Electronic Desert Recordings - co-incidentally this was also the label's very first release.

The next Elblaus' production in line to be released is his debut album on Electronic Desert Recordings entitled "Flannel Poet". There are also far-gone plans on a late, but long awaited full-length album signed FAB, surely something to look forward to! Apart from the more traditional take on music creation Elblaus has as of late started exploring the intriguing field of automata, that is, machines that make music on their own, blatantly disregarding all and any attempts of human intervention. "Flannel Poet" will be the first in a series of albums scheduled for release featuring high-quality electronics from Scandinavia and beyond.

PAWALSKI
Pawalski is Patrik Wallström - a man living and breathing computers or rather  the code that make them come alive. He started out making music in the  computer's infancy back when the music production weapon of choice was the now  legendary Commodore 64 personal computer or simply put the C64. That also makes  him one of many artists living today originally inspired by the peculiar  sound of the machine, the actual manipulations of it and the realisation that  limitations most definitely can spawn creativity.

Now some two decades later when the hardware and software restrictions are  fewer the time has come for the first official release: the album "Namespace"  an electronic delight displaying Pawalski's outstanding production techniques  in a total of 13 tracks. The album is a part of the new album series on  Electronic Desert Recordings that will feature high-quality electronics from  Scandinavia and beyond.

INIGO KENNEDY
A decade spent in the absolute forefront of electronic music and specifically  techno as DJ, producer and record label owner the productive and  multi-talented Inigo Kennedy readies himself for yet another quality release, the  full-length album "September Pieces" on Electronic Desert Recordings.

With close to hundred previous releases, Inigo is far from being a newcomer  when it comes to record releasing. He has successfully managed his own record  label Asymmetric since 1999 and as a label it was formed specifically to  output his own material. It is quite naturally also the home to his most personal  music. High on the agenda for Asymmetric is to challenge and introduce ideas  whilst maintaining a distinctive and coherent techno foundation. Releases to  date have been met with both critical and dance floor acclaim. Towards the  end of 2002 Asymmetric reached its tenth vinyl release, "The Power Of Ten",  and entered an unfortunate period due to distribution problems. However, not  wishing to stem the flow of music and ideas, the opportunity was taken to start  an innovative project asymmetric|mp3. This is an MP3 label made available  freely and with the aim of running alongside and supporting Asymmetric's  continued vinyl release schedule. The first release, made available in January  2004, was called "In Parallel" and brought significant interest and positive  feedback from around the World. The project has recently made available its  seventh release "Pushing Forward" and interest continues to grow in particular as  the diversity of the releases has steadily increased.

Inigo Kennedy's first contribution to Electronic Desert is a collection of 10  tracks made during 2005. This piece of contemporary music is the fruit of  extending and experimenting with his deep understanding of music production  acquired whilst producing and releasing ground breaking techno onto the World.  "September Pieces" sees Kennedy seeking new ways to communicate his musical  vision. The musical complexity that can be heard in any of his previous  releases can readily be heard on "September Pieces" as well, but the mood is  different.

The album is a part of the new album series on Electronic Desert Recordings that will feature high-quality electronics from Scandinavia and beyond.

JAN ANDERSSON
After spending years as hard-hitting techno DJ/producer, managing the  legendary promotion company Techstylism as well as his boundary pushing techno label  Cutting Pleasure and recording using the Jaques Lueder alias the time had  come for Jan Andersson to add yet another chapter to his musical career.

First Andersson created Electronic Desert - a series of live events and later  on also a record label - together with long-time friend Jonas Sissokho. He  then restarted his production process creating something slightly different originally using the project name:  Qualia Systems. The musical vision is quite sinister, complex and very  electronic, may be not as harsh as his earlier techno output and it is true that the  dance floor focus has been slightly toned down, but rest assured that the  key elements of production have been kept intact: electronics that move.

Jan Andersson is currently working on a yet untitled full-length album that  will surface on Electronic Desert Recordings and will be a part of the new  album series featuring high-quality electronics from Scandinavia and beyond.
