about

Electronic Desert was founded by the long-time friends Jonas and Janos in Stockholm in 2002 and started out as a recurring musical event focusing entirely on contemporary electronic music. Between the years 02' and 06' close to 30 events were arranged and in addition Electronic Desert was invited to play at: Norbergfestival, Spitz, Svaj to mention a few.

Essential to any ED event were live performances, high quality sound system and visuals. During the active years the following artists performed live at one or more occasion: The Policy Unit, Andreas Tilliander, Pavan, Ludvig Elblaus, Neil Landstrumm, Liquid Stranger & Dorothy's Magic Bag, Bobby Madrid & Jens Kallbäck, Sophie Rimheden, Johan Inkinen & Slem, Sourcery, SonyCo, Posthuman, Johan Skugge, Jean-Louis Huhta, VITA/ M. Stavöstrand, FAB, Stendec, Benge, Peter Benisch, Bauri, Cide, Funkwecker, Folie, Håkan Lidbo, Smyglyssna and Ola Bergman.

Apart from the musical events a record label bearing the same name was also started in early 2002. The very first release was the Viva Fab! twelve-inch by the duo Frank And Bill. And as a matter of fact this duo was a major motivator in starting the label in the first place. With vinyl production costs, logistics and severe distribution problems in mind the label switched the output format to CDR instead for the two subsequent releases. After spending a long period in hiatus Electronic Desert Recordings added a fourth release to the catalogue: Pawalski's debut album Namespace in 2009. The output format changed once more and the two last albums were regular CD releases, both released 10-10-10.
